Judge Carles Corwin presided in 34th Circuit Court on Jan. 8, 2013:

  • 34 year old St. Helen man was remanded to the Roscommon County Sheriff’s Dept. to serve a sentence imposed Dec. 4, 2012, following the granting of the prosecutor’s motion to dismiss a probation violation. The judge also signed an order for a show cause hearing later that month. He had been previously¬†sentenced on charges of possession of a controlled substance (non-narcotic), impaired driving, third offense, and possession of Marijuana.
  • 44 year old Roscommon man was sentenced to 23 to 48 months in prison (credit for 62 days), $400 in fines and costs, a $200 attorney fee on a charge of felonious assault, 24 to 60¬†months in prison (credit for 62 days) on a charge of possession of a firearm by a felon, 23 to 48 months in¬†prison (credit for 62 days) on a charge of discharging a firearm in a building and 62 days in jail (credit for 62 days and he may be eligible for Special Alternative Incarcerations, or Boot Camp) on a charge of fourth degree child abuse. The sentences are to be served concurrently. He was ordered to to pay a total of $384 in other court assessments.
  • 47 year old Grayling mans was sentenced to 13 to 24 months in prison (credit for 23 days), $100 in fines and costs, a $50 attorney fee and $198 in other court assessments on a charge of failure to register as a sex offender and 13 to 50 months in prison (credit for 23 days), to be served concurrently, $100 in fines and costs, a $50 attorney fee and $198 in other court assessments on charge of aggravated stalking (he may be eligible for Special alternative Incarcerations, or Boot Camp).
  • 24 year old Lake City woman was sentenced to two concurrent terms of 24 months to seven years in prison ( no credit), $100 in fines and costs, a $50 attorney fee, 4110 in restitution and $198 in other court assessments on two counts of delivery of controlled substance (both are consecutive to her parole status).
  • 18 year old Roscommon man charged with driving while under the influence, causing an incapacitating injury, was ready for trial, with an offer pending.
